3
Promotion starts with your networks

When it comes to drumming up support, start by using your own existing networks of friends, workmates and recreational clubs.

  • The quickest and easiest way is to share your page’s URL by email, text and your social media networks. Facebook and Twitter works really well!
  • Talk to them about your fundraiser
  • If you’re planning something big, consider contacting your local paper or radio station
  • Call, text or email them
  • Add a link to your fundraising page in your email signature on your work and home email

4
Think about venues

If you need one, look into suitable venues. Consider things such as parking, wet-weather, council permits, catering requirements and audio-visual equipment. And remember to book well in advance.

5
Limit your costs

Ask for venues, prizes and services to be donated. You’ll be surprised how generous local businesses can be if you just ask.

6
Bank your fundraising money as you go
